About Us

Britannia Dance is run by Sam Ellis an IDTA qualified dance teacher who has a wide knowledge and experience in teaching ballroom and latin. The school offers an extensive weekly class timetable all through the year which also includes zumba and dance fitness classes which in Stroud are led by Martina Ellis. Britannia Dance welcome people across Gloucestershire to join their popular Ballroom classes which are hosted in Stroud and Cirencester every week. Private tuition, wedding lessons and professional IDTA coaching is hosted at Britannia Studio, in Stroud.

The studio also offers a vast number of fun and energetic solo dance classes for those unable or not keen to partner up! These run most days of the week in Britannia Studio, Stroud and Painswick. See the timetable for our Zumba Gold and Zumba Fitness classes which promise to meet your dancing and fitness requirements!

Dancers will experience top tuition or instruction at each and every class all within a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. Our approach to Ballroom is focussed on dancers developing the essential basics with good technique, and later building up to advanced figures and more interesting choreography. With music being such a key part of dance, great emphasis is laid on playing top quality classic and contemporary tracks. Due to our experienced dance background our approach to 'dance fitness' is very dance focussed rather than aerobic coupled with an easy to follow and very fun fitness workout.
