Recent Britannia News​

New Monthly Social Tea Dance starts this May in Painswick! 
 
Join our first social dance on Sunday 17th May for some Ballroom, Latin and Sequence. Anytime from 2.30 - 5pm at the Painswick Centre in Painswick, Glos.  
Tickets are available in advance for £5 pp which is open to students and non students. 
 
IDTA South West Competition Success

March 2014

 

20 Britannia dancers entered the recent IDTA medallist competition held in Bath. Many dancers achieved some exceptional results and great experience so well done to everyone taking part which we hope dancers and spectators enjoyed. 

 

A special mention and congratulations goes to the dancers below with these stand out results...

 

Maddie Rudkin - for winning and retaining the Ballroom Medallist of the Year (Juvenile age), plus gaining 1st place in the Waltz Camay competition, 2nd place in the Jive graded event and 3rd place in the all grades Samba. 

Freya Lewis - for gaining 2nd place in the Ballroom Medallist of the Year Comp (Adult), gaining 1st place in the Waltz & Tango All grades competition, 1st place in the Trafalgar 2 Step and 2nd place in the Viennese Waltz.  Freyas most successful competition to date which was very well deserved. 

Emma Dolphin - for gaining 2nd place in the Paso Doble competition and 3rd place in the Ballroom Medallist of the Year event plus 3rd place in the Trafalgar 2 Step.

Kyra Cooke - For gaining 1st place in the Quick Waltz comp and 2nd place in the Samba plus gaining 1st place in the couples Rock n Roll with Katie Pugh. 

Molly Riddell - for gaining 1st place in the Tango and Square Tango compettion. This was Mollys most successful competiiton which was well deserved 

Rhiannon Price - for gaining 1st place in her first competition at the Cha Cha starters event.

Amy Farmer - for  gaining 2nd place in her first competition at the Cha Cha starters event and also 2nd place in the Waltz comp.

Esme Carruthers - for gaining 1st place in her first competition in the Social Foxtrot plus 3rd place in the Two Step 

Charlotte Jones - for gaining 1st place in the Classical Sequence Two Step, 2nd place in the Paso Doble and 3rd place in the Samba.

Jaya Moran - for gaining 2nd place in the Two Step and Foxtrot competition

New Britannia Dance Web Site!

Britannia Dance launches a new look website which we hope potential students, Britannia dancers and members will enjoy using. We hope you appreciate the new look and design and additional features and information available. 

 

We welcome any feedback and suggestions to further improve the site to cater for your needs. 

Next Medal Test Session Date - 23rd November

Students are encouraged to participate in the next medal test session to gain some rewards for all the hard work in class. Please could dancers inform us which dances they would like to be assessed in.

IDTA South West Area now have there own dedicated web site featuring all the information dancers and parents will require concerning the areas competitions. This site will also feature a gallery and headline news from forthcoming events so if you have any photos to send in from these events to feature online please send to Sam Ellis.
