Britannia Dance are happy to support all dancers through the IDTA medallist award system and the more committed dancers at national and regional medallist competitions. These events provide students an opportunity to showcase their dancing to IDTA examiners or adjudicators and in return potentially achieve high rewards to reflect the development and improvement in their dancing.

 

The medallist system involves dancers being independently examined at the Britannia Studio in Stroud for any selected branch of Ballroom, Latin or Classical Sequence. Dancers are able to work through the medalist grades in a structured manner and so offers the chance for students to gain certificates and medals for their continued achievements. 

 

For those wishing to showcase their dancing out of a class setting and in a competitive environment we can offer member dancers the opportunity to partake on a national and regional level at IDTA competitions. These events provide dancers with a great experience to compete with fellow students and also other schools and offer the chance to gain further achievements to reflect their dancing ability and technique. The regional competitions feature two main sections, an 'all grades' section which involves dancers of mixed ability competing within their own age groups; and a graded section which involves dancers competing at the medallist level they have reached within their age group.
